This battery charger is extremely good value and I am happy with its performance. As others have mentioned the batteries are a bit of a tight fit but can be extricated with a small screw driver or similar. I found it a bit difficult to insert the AAA batteries properly but it may be I was wary of forcing it. I knew that my AAA batteries were completely empty when I inserted them and the charger was saying they were completely charged after about one hour. My previous charger didn't give me this information but I felt that one hour was not long enough so I turned it on again and it carried on charging but switched off again so I set it again for a third go and then put the batteries into use and they have been working well ever since so I think the charger errs on the safe side so that the batteries don't overheat. Having said that I found that my batteries only became slightly warm. Bearing all this in mind I am happy with the purchase especially at such a reasonable price.Read full review

Bought one identical a number of years ago mainly for charging alkaline batteries and it worked great took 2-3 hours to fully recharge alkaline batteries the more you recharged them they slowly lost their power but all in all they still lasted for months before having to throw them away,if you are expecting to use this for recharging alkaline buy else where it is garbage,it’s ok for charging rechargeable batteries but there are loads of rechargeable chargers out there a lot cheaper, all in all very disappointed with this charger, even tells you on the back not to charge alkaline but the description of it says it does.

This is a lovely little charger. The downside is that the AA Batteries are not easy to remove from the charger. Not sure how successful recharging Alkaline Batteries will be. Only time will tell. The Instruction Leaflet says they can be recharged up to 10 times it but does not say if the charger indicates when they can no longer be recharged. Make sure the Alkaline batteries are in good condition and not fully discharged otherwise risk they will explode.

I bought this to charge none rechargable batteries, it's pretty hit and miss which ones will recharge. Some hold their charge others don't some simply will not recharge, some will even leak days later. You can get some pretty cheap real rechargable batteries now, so I think the point of what I was doing is a bit mute.

Wouldn't say it was an amazing charger! but for the money its decent.. and gives you a small battery meter indicator as well, which is a nice touch compared to the usual fully charged LED that you just get. And when charging the none rechargeable alkaline batteries in it, like it says it can do. Well it does work!.. sort of... It will charge them so they are usable again but they dont last as long as they did when new and they discharge within a few weeks if not used. So for rechargeable batteries: Great! but for none rechargeable's: Average, I would say. but your not suppose to recharge normal batteries anyways so wasn't fussed.
