Father Ted is a brilliant comedy written by Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews. Growing up I always would watch Father Ted when it was on, but untill now i have never understood the jokes. All Three series of Father Ted are brilliant. There is no comedy better, Little Britian, The Office even Friends doesn't come close. Although some people might find it very insulting, most people will cry of laughter. The most noticeable Character being Jack Hackett (in my opinion). Having a very limited vocabulary . The most common words being 'Feck' 'Arse' and 'Girls'. Although in quite a few episodes his vocabulary broadens. Dermot Morgan (aka Father Ted) couldn't of played a better part. The casting agents did a brilliant job in choosing Dermot. If you want a great couple of nights in, even one with all the lads, Choose Father Ted. I do not have a favourite series or even a favourite episode, there all so good! Check out series 1 2 & 3. You know you want to!Read full review
Who do I like? Dougal!! Who do I love? Jack!! What do I dislike?? Yeah right, FECK OFF dislike!!! Father Ted is something you can watch at any time and always laugh. Rate it up there with Only Fools and Horses. Had to buy this DVD to complete my collection.
I got this for Christmas, having seen a couiple of episodes on tv. I loved it immiediately - every episode is finely-tuned comic perfection. The characters are brilliant and work together so well. The jokes keep coming, and they're great ones too. This is quite honestly the funniest sitcom I've ever seen, and I have just bought the rest of the 3 series (unfortunately Frank Kelly died before the 4th series was filmed). The Christmas special in here is the icing on the cake - an hour long and the comic pace never lets up once. A perfect fusion of scriptwriting and acting - along with peep show the best comedy to come from Channel 4.
Writing a review for Father Ted is too easy really. The whole series is laugh out loud as our 3 hopeless but very likeable priests deliver sprititual guidance to Craggy Island. If I had one small gripe, it's the menus on the DVDs - on all the Father Ted series that I own - it isn't very clear as to how to navigate around and getting close to the screen to make anything out is bit of a pain but it's a small problem in relation to whole bunch of laughs, that'd be right then.
