it was really quite cheesy but watchable typical zombie film lots of gore and grosseness.not badly made though even if some of the acting is a bit dodgey
I'm a massive fan of Zombie films and always go for any film with '....of the dead' or '....of the living dead' in the title. Usually, I've found that, unless it's directed by George A Romero, I know it;s going to be slightly naff until now... 'Flight of the Living Dead' is a great, action packed, addition for any fan of the genre. Set in the confines of an in-flight airplane really builds the intensity of the situation with nowhere to run or hide etc but does it with a pinch of humour (not a slapstick laugh along like HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES) that assures the viewer that it doesn't take itself too seriously and doesn't get 9 miles up it's own arse in the way that DAWN OF THE LIVING DEAD does etc I don't recognise any of the actors in this film, which can usually be a bad sign or a sign of the straight-to-video type film, but you'll find in FOTLD this really is not the case. One of the cheapest DVD's I've ever purchased and definitely up there with the best intensity driven horrors available. It has just the right amount of blood, violence, gore and intensity to make it a classic of the genre and if it had George A Romero's name on the cover it wouldn't be out of place.Read full review
A typical Living dead movie, except that it is set on a plane. A plane going to Paris from the USA is carrying a corpse. If it escapes it will become one of the Living Dead. Needless to say iy does, and starts to kill passengers, and crew alike, who then become the living dead. Finally, the plane crash lands and the dour survivord belive all of the Dead had been killed as they set fire to the plane during landing. However, as they walk away into the sunset four of the Living dead crawl out from under the remains of the plane. So ithink we are in for a sequel?. Overall, good fun, but lots of gore and definately noy one for the kids!
Bought this because I collect zombie films and saw it in a second hand shop recently. The idea of a plane filled with zombies was interesting and it worked. Formulaic but if you like the formula who cares? Gory, grisly, ghastly and grotesque. In other words great! Acting was reasonable, didn't take itself too seriously but that was not a bad thing at all. If you enjoy films like land of the dead etc. you will like this :)
