I've not really been able to give this a fair test, as the amount of large wet leaves we had to test it on, were really trampled into the grass. The Blower function, which is controlled by a sliding knob on the side, was not strong enough to move the sodden leaves efficiently, they would have only been moved by something like a Stihl's petrol one. But it did suck them up just fine, turning them into fine mulch, that also coated the inside of the bag and the nozzle the ejecting into it. Something that on the one occasion that I used the machine, that I think would make it's use better is a lock on the extending nozzle, as it retracts, with any slight pressure while moving it along on the wheels. I may in the future drill a hole to insert a pip pin,to keep it extended. I'm sure that I've made a good choice with this Flymo and it will do a good job, when the conditions are right. It's a shame, but I don't think that you can revisit a review, to report my findings when I've used it in better circumstances. The only time I used this, was with really frosty and the leaves were very wet. With my glasses on today, I've been using it again and found the instructions to rotate the nozzle to lock it. Now I can rest on it, without it retracting. One other thing that I noticed, is that leaves sucked up, with soil on them, tends to stick to the fan chamber walls and build up till it rubs the impeller. So you have to be prepared to open the unit, by screwing out the grey knob, behind the D handle and doing some digging to remove the packed soil. Very pleased with the way it works, an improvement on my old Black and Decker that I got from my Aunt.Read full review
