Some of this was interesting, but the book suffered by being a book about the TV program and presenters as much as being about railways. There were for example too many rather pointless photos of the presenters just posing in a railway environment or on a locomotive. This might have been useful if the presenter had not been given so much prominence that nothing else was properly shown. These were wasted pages. The photos should have been illustrations that took the story forward with the presenters of the program perhaps engaged in some appropriate task in the background. That said, there was enough about the ostensible subject to recommend the book if bought at a budget price.

Excellent companion book to the DVD/TV series. The only downside would be that many of the photographs are of the presenters in front of objects of interest rather than photos of the objects themselves!
