Stand-out songs are Psychological, Minimal, I'm With Stupid and Lunar Park. I have listened to the album about 5 times now and I don't think its as strong as Nightlife, Bilingual, Actually, Introspective, Very, etc. It's a bit like Release - which was probably panned (but maybe not quite as good as Release even!). I am a fan. Have been since the age of 12 in '87. Listening to the album you can see why they released Minimal and I'm With Stupid easily the most dance-orientated uplifting songs. You can see I'm not a massive fan of Fundamental... HOWEVER, and it is a BIG however, the Bonus CD Fundamentalism more than makes up for the actual CD?!? It is a proper CD in its own right. Crafted, designed and engineered to be listened to. As well as remixing 6 of their BEST Fundamental songs they also include a great new dance track - Fugitive and their own version of the Pet Shop Boys-penned hit In Private whith Elton John on vocals. So what I'm saying is this Fundamental should only be bought with Fundamentalism as whilst I enjoy the occasional Email, Its only the Wind, Kings Cross, Before type track I am much more a fan of the Pets uptempo stuff. You'll be disappointed with the bonus Fundamentalism CD. Perhaps, they should have released it instead of their original choice.Read full review
I have always liked the Pet shop boys and their unique sound and are pleased that they still continue to bring out new music. I particularly liked this CD as it reverts back to their old style of music of which they are so famous I was delighted to find this CD special edition as it is 2 CDs with extra tracks on the 2nd CD
Again another perfect CD from Pet Shop Boys with excellent remixes on bonus CD! If You like PSB Music You MUST have it ;-)
