I like the way he sounds and his music is good.Idont know anything i dislike about it i like the whole cd.I heard one of his songs on CSI and some different ones on my XM Radio so i wanted to listen to the whole CD and we like it very much
only the one good track - mad world only the one good track - mad world only the one good track - mad world
Everyone loved the cover version of Tears for Fears' "Mad World" (featured on the soundtrack to Donnie Darko), that track is track 12 of 13 on this album. The reason for this is I think that Gary Jules although very proud of the track is worried this is all we want his album for and puts (almost) all the other tracks in the way so as to get us to listen to all the rest of his songs in case we forget. Convulated explanation perhaps, but it certainly must be true. The rest of the tracks start very much like the early solo work of Paul Simon and the rest either resemble those or even get a little Tinita Tikarim(ish) which is not a bad thing. I really enjoyed the album and find a lot of the tracks to be catchy and very different to "Mad World" (again not a bad thing). This is a wholly acoustic album and leaves the listener quite "up!".Read full review
Mad World could be one of the best songs ever written. The remainder of the CD is is a bit fluffy and pointless, but it was worth every pence I paid for Mad World. Simply brillant, only wish it was the acoustic version.
Bought on the back of the "Mad World" Donnie Darko track - very happy with the other 12 tracks as well - bonus ! Mellow tracks, and a little like Simon & Garfunkel in places (I think).
