There are TWO versions of "Three Sides Live", the U S. version which comprises, er, 3 sides of live recordings and some rarities on the original vinyl side 4 released exclusively on EP such as 'Paperlate', 'Open Door', 'Evidence of Autumn' and 'You Might Recall' but, intriguingly, no 'Match of the Day'. The U. K. version which is the one I am reviewing here actually contains FOUR sides of live music. The extra live tracks are belting versions of 'One For The Vine' from 1980, 'Fountain of Salmacis' from 1978 and a medley of 'It/Watcher of the Skies" from 1976. These tracks are worth 5 stars and stand out as clearly superior to' Me and Sarah Jane' and 'Misunderstanding', two rather poppy offerings also included on the album. Genesis albums never disappoint and "Three Sides Live" is a great album that falls just a little short of the out-and-out live Prog brilliance of the awesome "Seconds Out".Read full review
