i just fitted this motherboard in my main PC , all i can say about this motherboard is amazing price / performance. i put this in my main PC , i bought this board to replace my Asus M5A78/USB3 with view to going crossfire in the future. on benchmarking this with my 8320 and a saphire 7950 both at stock speed and i found it around 30% faster than when running the 8320 @ 4.5Ghz my 3d mark results are as follows 3d mark vantage Asus M5A78/USB3 -P19463 Gigabyte 970A-DS3 -P23213 PCMARK VANTAGE Asus M5A78/USB3 -5227 Gigabyte 970A-DS3 - 8679 3DMARK 11 RESULTS Asus M5A78/USB3 - P7046 Gigabyte 970A-DS3 - P7893
It works. But it's a very basic motherboard with no heatsink for the power phases and the sata ports are not oriented to the side. The audio chipset is quite poor as well with no surround sound.
Not too good for LINUX, it is as it says, a Windows 8 machine, I have no interest in that. Under Ubuntu 15.10 it works in 32 bit mode, not much consolation for a power machine. In 64 bit the ethernet and other services will not work. A total waste of my time money and a very considerable amount of effort. A motherboard is just that, it should work with any known operating system.
I PUT THE AMD 8 CORE 3.6GHz BLACK EDDITION ON THIS MOTHER BOARD AND IS THE BOOOOOMMMMMB I GOT TO SAY I HAD MY DOUBTS BUT WOW I CAN EVEN CROSSFIE ON THIS AS IT HASE ENOUGH SPACE INBETWEEN THE PCI E PORTS BUT IS VERY FAST AND IS PERFECT FOR FAST HARD CORE GAMMERS :)
