I have the BC 30 fitted on a twin axle Compass caravan. It took quite a while to complete the installation, however the result is impressive and it links seamlessly with our Garmin Camper satnav. I installed the camera above the number plate and ran the wire through the ABS rear wall, then down and out under the caravan. Due to the length of the caravan, an extension cable was purchased and the plug-in joint shrink wrapped for weatherproofing. The extension cable runs under the caravan and through existing cable fittings, so that part was easy. The only drilling was for camera cable entry through the rear wall, (later sealed with mastic), as the extension cable was able to be routed up into the front gas compartment, through the gas pipe hole in the front compartment floor. Sticky pads and cable ties routed the cable up the front fire wall and the transmitter was finally stuck to the inside of the front compartment wall. It is probably best to just coil up and secure all the excess cable, because I chose to shorten it for neatness, which resulted in a difficult joint with very fine wires. For anyone else choosing to shorten the extension cable, the extension cable comprises three shielded internal wires, but one of the wires needs to be stripped back to reveal the inner earthing strands, which form the fourth connection on the 4 pin moulded connector plugs. So 4 parallel connections need to be made and weatherproofed - (better to just coil up the excess cable). I also chose to use the switched live feed, (refrigerator supply), on the towing electrics, to power the camera, rather than the reversing light power. The reasoning for this was that, whilst using the reverse light power supply would automatically switch on the rear-view display as soon as reverse was selected, - it does not allow you to see what is behind you whilst driving. So I used the switched power supply instead, which enables selection of the camera view at any time, via the satnav menus'. On a motorhome installation, I would have used the reverse light power and not the switched power.Read full review

Well made and effective reversing camera linked to Garmin GPS. It is important to research GPS compatibility carefully before committing to a purchase. Installation may be carried out by competent DIY enthusiasts but more probably will require professional assistance.
