I researched a lot of the multitude of fitness/weightloss DVD's that are out in the shops, and decided on this one. I decided on this one not because I was a huge Gaynor Faye fan on Dancing on Ice but because a magazine and newspaper gave it 5 stars. I was not dissapointed by this DVD. The DVD features Gaynor Faye and her DOI Skating Partner Daniel Whiston. The DVD features 5 ten minute sections, going from an array of warm up exesices to matt stretches and toning exercises. The DVD is great because Daniel demonstates all the exercises and thoroughly explains there how they work and what you get out of it. The banter between the two is also thoroughly entertaining. The good thing about this is that all the exercises are 'do-able' so long as you have the space. You don't even need expensive equiptment just a tin of beans! There are also extra on the DVD including the making, Healthy eating advice and interviews with Gaynor and Dan But all in all a great DVD that will leave you fit firm and feeling Fab - and the best thing of all...? You can get a Skaters Bum without breaking your neck on the ice!Read full review
I bought this DVD because I wanted to take up some kind of aerobic exercise and I chose this one because it was going cheap. I recommend as it's a good workout. It's split into 5 sections each about 10 minutes long: warm up, 'skaters bum' which tones the bottom and thighs, 'pumping with beans' which targets the upper body, 'Dan’s dynamite disco' which is an al-round cardio workout, and there's also a cool down. You can do them all, or pick the ones you want to do. I found that the cool down wasn't very good as it left me aching because it doesn’t stretch all the muscles you have used, so I chose to do my own stretches instead, which worked fine. Overall I'm pleased with the product; I was expecting a lot less for its price.
No gimmicks just good old fashioned exercise. Good instruction and they both looked like they were having a good time. Good camera angles, so you could always see what was going on and no complicated moves to try and master. Some of it is quite intensive, but I just did some of it a bit more low impact as I am not very fit at all right now. Would recommend to anyone with any fitness level.
This is a great fitness DVD particually if you are not very mobile because you can do whichever section you want, so if a part is too hard you can leave that out, because it is in 10mins sections it is easy to skip or repeat whichever you want. Gaynor Faye has such a happy persona that it is infectious and makes the DVD fun. She is not afraid to make mistakes and then laugh about it, so she comes across as very normal and down to earth. Highly recommended
I decided to buy this dvd because I wanted to see a "normal down to earth person" do the workout, and I was not dissapointed. Friendly and fun routine, nothing to demanding although I did think the floor exercise was a bit long and repetitive.
