Installed on a Reference Radeon R290; needed a dremel in order to make certain parts fit (some of the vram coolers). The thermal adhesive tape isn't very sticky; I wasn't confident it'd hold the heatsinks so I've used other tape. The cooler is very quiet (barely audible at 100% fan speed) and under full load, the R290 is 34 degrees cooler than using the stock cooler. I'm very happy with the item, but the installation is not for the feint-of-heart :)

However, if you plan to use with AMD R9 290X, remember to find the kit for Mosfets and that single ram just below the GPU, unless you feel like modding the fins youself. Had everything fittet perfectly, it would have been 5 star I also purchased a seperate fan control ... but with that ... I now have a silent and cool R9 290 :)

My stock cooler, on my GTS450, died. With a little modification to the stand off pins I was able to fit this cooler (the heat sink has so many fitting holes that it fits almost all Nvidia cards with a little extra work). My stock cooler ran at 30 c at idle and 60c when gaming. This cooler runs at 33c idle and at 38c when gaming. So to every day users there is no benefit, but to gamers who push their graphics the benefits are immediately obvious. There is no plenty of scope for overclocking should I feel it necessary and I no longer have to worry about being close to melt down temperature (95c). The other good thing is that when I next upgrade my graphics card, I will replace it's cooler with this and so justify the cost of this unit.

got this to replace the stock cooler that came with my HIS R9 290 Ice-q card. one of it's fans has failed. looked up the instructions on youtube and then got stuck in about it. It was simple, took twenty minutes and knocked a good 20 to 30C off my temperatures. Remember you will need some isopropyl alcohol to clean off the old thermal paste. also it's a good idea to have some artic silver about as the amount or thermal paste you get in the kit is laughable. Cotton buds to dip into the alcohol will remove the old paste. put on a layer of the new paste and lob the cooler on. I very highly reccomend this cooler to give extra life to a card and extremely good temperatures!
