I remember when this first came out. The greyish colours of a good old fashioned britsh crime-related movie combined with a roster of real vehicles, and all the alleged costs made this game a true promise. First thing's first, before anyone can mistake this with a GTA, this is not a GTA. It's close on some levels, but not enough to make it a copy-cat in any way. Visualy the game is very well balanced, with only the less positive note for certain rare, yet existing bugs, and the character design seems more focused on the faces than on their bodies. The diference is never shocking, but it is noticible. The rest of the game is actually very well polished, and nothing seems out of place in the games full atmosphere. Gameplay wise, the cover system for the time this game was made wasn't all that bad, but the auto aim is sometimes awfull. A guy pointing a shotgun at you at point-blank range is apparentley less of a threat than the guy 50 feet from you with a water pistol. This isn't that frequent either, but when it happens it is very annoying. Driving is actually fun, except with the ocassional "hit-the-sidewalk-get-lifed-cant-handle-smash-the-taxi-smoke-out-of-hood-now-you-walk" incidents. Audio wise, the sounds seem all well in context, though certain weapons could have a more juice. More atmosphere wouldn't hurt to contribute to a heavier urban enviourment. Voice acting is very well done, you can really see the lines were carefully structered givng the caracters personality and depth. The game seems long enough to please the average gamer like myself, though I honestley haven't got to the end of it since time is somewhat scarce these days. In general, this a good game to pickup for those into third-person action games. Got it at a very good price, and I find it very enjoyable. I give it an average because being a fan of this genre, i enjoy it aot, bit if your not a fan, you may find it somewhat stiff and irritating.Read full review
Loving the game, when i finally got the hang of it not getting killed and re healing. Been for a drive around London and the map is pretty good,by that i mean realistic, i dont have to learn a map, it is actually london. True to life the embanklment is choc a block with traffic. The vehicles are of an age. Well London a few years ago as a building i used to work in having recently been demolished is there and its good to see it again. If you like GTA and Driving games then it is a good blend and in a league of its own. Just like GTA the bigger the vehicle the greater the damage you can take. the only downside is that the PS2 has so many controller options, that most of the controller is redundant. This game however feels like a Guy Ritchie "snatch" style movie. Only given it 4 stars but it could easily have received 5.Read full review
underated game, graphics are quite good compared to other top ps2 games, gta vice city, san andreas and sort of same feel and game play as gta, the only down falls are the controls, lacks responce fidderly buttons but they have deffently made up for this with story lines and gameplay set in london this is a must have for ps2 owners , the game is also quite challanging from early on so plenty to do and getting the most out of your money, id pay from £2 to £3 for this game because of its age but deffo a classic, grab a copy today if you not played it wont disappoint............... 6/10
