I was born in 1943 when goods to buy were rare and the where-with-all to buy was even rarer.The Giles books represented a cheap escape and a Christmas prezzie at the same time.It was undoubtably a political rag, I disliked intensely the union bashing,but I did like the silliness of the unions and both political parties rediculed by the cartoons. I have grown up with Giles, being born at its inaugeration through to 1995 when the unthinkable happened.Nostalgic it is,a reminder of the past,it also reminda me of my whereabouts at the time, 1808 bob
