I must admit to liking Good Charlotte, and was hesitant in buying this album as I didn't know what to expect from them as their recent music is quite different from their older stuff. However, I don't know why I was hestitant... IT'S BRILLIANT! There are some great tracks, such as "The River" and "Get Yours Hands Off My Girl", and they seem to have adopted more of an electronic sound than on the older album I have (The Young and the Hopeless). This is a good thing as the album is packed with a variety of sounds - enough for every fan of this genre of music. If you like Good Charlotte (or any artist of a similar genre), buy this and you will certainly not be disppointed!
On first listen, this CD was very obviously average with only 2 stand-out tracks being 'The River' and 'Keep your hands off my girl'. The tracks all sound very similar and the lyrics tend to become a bit repetitive, with Joel singing throughout about the shallowness of LA and his broken heart. However, having seen the band live, I listened to the CD wtth a new enthusiasm. The tracks start to stand out and they become catchy, particuarly 'Victims of Love'. The CD isn't bad but it isn't amazing, and I would only recommend it to fans of the band.
