Being a fan of Graham Coxon's work all it's formats, I decided to buy this. If you are a fan of his earlier lo-fi work but still have a craving for some of his more commercially successful stuff, this subtle mix of spacey acoustic tracks and 'garage-band grunge' is for you. Coxon bares all in stark honesty in tracks like 'Bitter Tears' and 'Baby, You're Out Of Your Mind', puts Dylan and Drake to shame with the short but sweet 'Latte' and scorns with the agressive 'Song For The Sick'. It's all quite a jump for his stuff with Blur and even from 'The Golden D' a previous album, but still carries his trademarks: great playing and a good strong British vocal.
Anyone who has only just discoverd coxon solo stuff recently needs to go an buy this album it is top! A little more mellow than some of the earler coxon offerings with some fantastic acoustic tracks. Bitter Tears (track 1) is one of my favourate ever coxon tracks. If you are going to buy three coxon albums get happyness in magazines, love travells at ileagle speads and this one Others are great two just more of an aquired taste.
His best album in my opinion - melancholy, even by his standards, but utterly beautiful. Standout tracks - the opener, Bitter Tears, and Just Be Mine. You really should own it.
