This model was standard-issue for business professionals in the 2007-2008 timeframe, so these laptops are a bit old, but the CPU is still capable of running modern software. When you put 4 GB of RAM and an SSD in one of these, it will outrun any Black Friday special from this year and will still cost less. Business-class machines tend to have higher quality parts in them because downtime is expensive, so businesses are willing to pay the higher up-front cost for reliability. Be realistic and don't expect Core i7 performance out of these, but if you need a cheap laptop without sacrificing dependability, this is a good option. I still see these in offices from time to time, in spite of their age. They're still there because they work.
