We are OFFERING a Harmony Vintage Sovereign H1203 Western Special Acoustic Flattop Guitar
This is a Harmony Sovereign Western Special guitar. It is the model H1203. Spruce sound board with mahogany neck back and sides. This was one of Harmony's high end acoustic guitars. It is also one of the earlier models probably early 1950 due to it having no pick guard. The high end Harmonys had a two part truss rod in it as this one does.
The guitar will probably need some setups although it comes to you in good condition. It has players wear on the body and some scratches but they are not from abuse. This guitar is history and it is a senior citizen since it is about 65 years old. It comes with the original chipboard case from what we can determine.
We said earlier that this was the Grand Concert model but it is actually the Western Special model. this is a guitar that was coveted by many of the Early Blues greats.
H1203 - Sovereign
"Western special". Pinless style bridge. Older models (pre 1956 ?) had a different, rounded "figure eight" body - No pickguard on early years - Barclay branded version wears H1203-3 model number. Not to be confused with the lower end H162 (check this model number). The H162 has a simple ply binding around body, H1203 has multi-plies binding around body, better woods on the top and a double rosette around soundhole.

Remember this if you choose USPS Parcel Select as your shipping method. Although it is less expensive it might be slow and less reliable especially around holidays.
This note is for our used items:
Although this item is in good condition it is used so do not expect a new item or one in mint condition since the words "mint" "good" and "great" describing an items condition can mean many things to many people. If your item is a used guitar or horn please expect that it might need some type of adjustment or setup to get it to your expected condition.
Don't Hesitate, WE TAKE OFFERS. Please check out our other items HERE. You get LIGHTNING FAST Shipping! Check Our Feedback!!!

Your description indicates this guitar has no neck reinforcement. What is under the truss rod cover? I own one of similar vintage, and the nut for truss rod adjustment is located under the white plastic cover at the base of... Continue reading
A: Sorry about that description. That was an error on my part. I am so used to saying that early guitars like Harmony did not have truss rods that I just said int automatically. I forgot that the high end Sovereigns indeed... Continue reading

A nice Sovereign, are there any stamps inside the guitar if you look through
the soundhole? Like a serial number in front of the neck-block XXXXH1203,
maybe even a date stamp like F-60 or S-62, but these are often... Continue reading
A: Thank you for your inquiry. The serial number is 522H1203. The date is there but impossible to see. I do think I can make out a B but nothing else. It does have #141 written in pencil but I don't know what that means.... Continue reading
