I decided I would try one of these swivel head rivet guns, I modify motorcycle silencers quite often for power enhancement, a Rivet gun comes quite handy for this type of thing. Unfortunately the build quality is pretty dia to be honest. the Rivet nozzle threads are poor and hard to fit, and also the rivet stems get stuck with every other rivet.. so be prepared to dismantle the pull through mechanism. On the plus side you could use it for tapping on windows... or use as a ledger weight for sea fishing!

I thought that this would be a direct replacement for my old one however it is a cheap copy, not by name but by appearance. It jammed up after the 5th rivet and I can't free it off, so the old one has been fixed and now performing perfectly. I have been riveting for 40 years without problem. Next time I will pay more and try and get a decent one, that's if the old one fails again.

I replaced a broken rivet on the struts of a heavy double glazed window. A friend helped to take the window out, and a new rivet easily inserted with this rivet gun. Good job done without calling the glazier in! Disassembling the gun to get the stub out and then reassembling was a bit tricky, but will be easier next time as the method is now known. (Instructions would have helped). A useful tool to add to my collection.
