Only slightly better than Queen and Country - it's follow on. Whoever rated either of these films as brilliant must have been watching something else to what I was. The picture on the front of both DVD's is pretty misleading. I was waiting for the singing to start! Weird film - both of them. A young boy watching his manic sister engaging in relations with her Canadian boyfriend in front of his gang of 10 year old friends? To depict war in this way is pretty unfunny. I should never have wasted my money on either. It's almost slapstick comedy. There were a few highlights in Hope and Glory but if I could have been bothered to switch off Queen and Country - I would have. I feel embarrassed sending these two to the charity shop.

This is an old film and has been on TV many times. I loved it so much I bought a copy for my friend who lives in New Zealand. Its one of the best films I've ever seen, funny and touching all at the same time.
