Thank you for looking at this listing for my very pretty little yacht. I am selling her because I have bought a larger craft which is better suited for longer passages. Anybody who knows about Hurley marine, will know that as a "fin keeler" she is quite unusual as most of these little ships were built as bilge keelers. I have had a lot of fun and some great sailing with her, but much as I want to, I really cannot keep two sailing boats. When you look at the pictures, she does not look as bright as she is. She is moored on the river Brue, near Burnham on Sea, (TA8 area) which is within the Bridgwater bay. This part of the Bristol channel carries a lot of fine silt and mud, and it gets just about everywhere. The mud easily washes off, but as she is on her mooring I cannot easily jet wash her clean at the moment. She also comes with Nasa wind indicator, and Nasa Depth sounder/display. The mainsail has a pretty blue cover, and the roller reefing genoa has been cut, and blue UV protection strip has been added professionally by R and J sails of clevedon to fit the plastimo 406 roller reefing perfectly. The mainsail is in good order with battens replaced last season. She is rigged back to the cockpit so is really very suitable for a single handed sailer. I am listing her as a basic sailing hull, but I do have things like the tiller tamer, 1 year old mariner long shaft 4hp saildrive outboard, porta potti, single ring gas cooker, etc. available with further negotiation. There are 2 covers with her. the first is a one year old custom made "boom tent" type cover which is very heavy duty which can be seen folded up in the cabin in one of the pictures, and the other cover is full length but could do with some stitching being secured. Like I say I will be sad to see her go, as she was a reintroduction to sailing, and as such she makes a perfect first little yacht for either a single sailor or a couple. The berths are in good condition as you can see in the pictures.I added the upright bar under the mast base, which has made no difference as she has not suffered compression, but put it in just in case. My uncle was the last owner and he kept her near him on the Norfolk Broads and I trailered her down to Somerset when I took ownership of her. The trailer is one I have built on a caravan chassis, and has no brakes, so it really is just a cradle with wheels, but it could be used as a cradle on a flat bed trailer if you want to transport her by road. I think that is about all I can put about her! But if you have any questions please either message me through Ebay or you can contact me on 07789908943 but please do not ring before 2pm any day as I am a shift worker. Further pics are available, and the mooring she is on is a club mooring, which does not come with the boat. Deposit or full payment by paypal please, with any outstanding balance by cash. She is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to withdraw her from Ebay. I have relisted her as even though 53 people were watching, only one person contacted me wanting to view her, and I had to end it as due to work commitments I couldnt be there before close of auction. |
