Having the correct model number is NOT sufficient information to properly identify a compatible laptop hard drive! Before you order your laptop hard drive, please make sure that your laptop hard drive has the correct connector and platter size. There are two different types of hard drive connectors used in laptops, SATA and IDE / EIDE (44 pin) connectors. Please compare the advertisers images to your hard drive to correctly identify the connector type. Once you have identified the connector type, check the descriptions of our hard drives to make sure you are selecting the correct connector. If the description says in bold letters: "For SATA laptops only", then your connector type is a SATA connector type. ALL OTHER connector interface types are IDE-type, 44 pin connectors. I received the correct hard drive and it worked the first time and continues to work.Read full review
Pros: Very economical, large enough for most Operating systems and small disk space leftover for onboard storage but needs to be used w/ ext storage HD/CDRW/thumbdrive. It makes you back up your files. If you regulaly scan and defrag it is quick because of size. Did I mention cheap... Cons: same thing size.
Decent Hard drive. I hate that these hard drives are so expensive for how outdated they are, I got this one really because it was one of the cheapest on eBay. Performance is okay for a 4200 drive but it's a tab bit noisy to me. Might just be these drives as this was my first one of this type. Bought it just to get a Dell D600 running and it did the job. i would go with a different one just to see if it made a difference in the noise it makes. Thats the only reason I wouldn't recommend it.
The drive is a good replacement for a very old laptop I own. I thought it was damaged when I got in the mail because it seems to have something loose inside, but tested it in an external enclosure and it worked just fine. It performs very well considering it's age.
These are the only 2.5 hard drives that I purchase because the Quality of the drive. Needed a 2.5 for a Nas OS and it was the one I looked for. I would buy another one because of the quality of the product. I could be wrong, but show me better for the price.
