I purchased this as the plastic part of the push button on the previous one kept coming off. I looked and looked just for the chrome push button cap and couldn't find any that are sold separately. I ordered what I thought was a similar one from China for about £2 quid. Unfortunately although of similar quality it wouldn't fit due to the push rod's being a different size (too long). I had no other choice than to buy this dual flush though it doesn't have Armitage shanks name on it. It works perfectly fine and easy to install. I just found it pricey for what it is considering I only needed the chrome push button cover which probably costs pennies.

This appears to be a genuine part, in an Ideal standard/Armitage Shanks bag, so it's not that it's a cheap knock-off (it seems), but it's just a rubbish design in general. The whole thing is just not really strong enough to be able to operate in the way it's supposed to, if the syphon is a bit old (which it probably will be if you've got the point of replacing the button), then it'll take a little more effort than originally to flush and the button starts to get out of shape. That and the ratchets arent strong enough, so the rods slide up and push the button caps off, and that's if you managed to get them to stay on in the right pposition in the first place. That said, if you already have this type installed then it's going to be a lot easier to replace a broken button than have to have the cistern off and replace the flush unit as a whole.Read full review

I guess many of you needed it for that small button only- I did Parts represent genuine replacement, however there is no name Ideal Standard printed anywhere Buttons are tough and I had to glue it to make sure it won't jump off It would be so much better if there would be possibility to purchase buttons only as well. This way or the other I had to buy flush button for £10 , as this flat is not mine ,but I flushed it ... Next time ... China

Pleased with purchase, job done. However the picture shows four plastic push down rods but only two were in the package. It would have been nice to have the other two as spares as these are the ''weakest link'' with these type of products. Still good value. Thankyou

Perfectly good replacement . If reolacing an old style button with two "half moons" you may need to remove (with a hacksaw) the half ring spacer on the large short flush actuator plate , as the new button is deeper than the old style one . It will work fine though after modification.
