Absolutely stunning and extremely rare 1930s full length lace dress. This beautiful piece has a shirt like style with a fantastic collar and faux button detail.
It also has flattering fluttery sleeves. The dress is truly exquisitely made and is breathtaking to behold.
It would be a fantastic basis for an elegant and unique wedding dress.
This dress requires TLC.
It would require a slip to be worn as it is quite sheer.
There is some discolouration around the arms, shoulders and hem (please see photos above- including full length). The overall colour in general is a little discoloured and this is to be expected of a garment of this age. There are some light marks, but nothing obvious or distracting.
The dress would benefit from being very carefully cleaned and I would also recommend carefully dying it-simply to even out the colour and cover up the discolouration. Luckily the dress is a lovely light beige and most colours would easily cover it.
The original belt is missing, but you could easily use your own or snip off the belt loops.
There is some damage to the lace and it will require TLC to make it wearable. There are some holes within the lace- mainly relatively small- that will require some stitches. There are also some larger areas where the lace has torn (such as the back- please see pictures). These areas will require a considerable amount of patience and skill to restore.
As is this dress is still a fantastic collectors piece but with some skill and attention it could easily be a very beautiful and perfectly wearable dress.
MEASUREMENTS (approximates) PLEASE NOTE that it is difficult to conform vintage garments to modern day sizes, this is why I do not provide sizes. PLEASE READ the measurements carefully and compare them to your own for estimate of fit.
The dress has no openings, it will need to be slipped over the head to be worn.
The dress is intended to be worn loose.
