The X3220 is almost exactly the same as the Q6600 quad core lga 775 CPU - some argue that the x3220 are selected by Intel to have a lower default voltage than q6600 which helps keep the cpu cool. This can be a useful chip in that a simple mod using electrical tape can force it to run at 1333 fsb on a motherboard that supports this speed, potentially on a machine that does not otherwise suport overclocking. Look for BSEL mod on Google. This worked for me and my "q6600" now runs at 3ghz with o other changes i.e. at standard voltage. There are dozens of faster chips available these days but, as a way to supercharge an older machine, the four cores plus the above trick to speed it up by 25% can be helpful and not too expensive.
Very worthy for its price. Quad core 1066 MHz FSB. Won't struggle with huge load. Works nicely in my dell Poweredge 860 running vSphere.
