Having dabbled with flying '172's over the years, I was interested to see quite what sort of job Italeri had made of her, and yes, it appears to be a pretty good job indeed. I note that box says that the kit is from 2016, so pretty recent unless it dates from a previous manufacturer. Now, I haven't actually put the kit together as yet but running a rule over the mid grey-moulded parts shows that she's pretty accurate in shape and dimensions, as well as having a good level of detail. Instructions are nice and clear in the now-customary international multi- lingual style which most kit producing companies utilise nowadays. There's a pretty convincing and detailed Continental engine to show off up front, with a reasonably detailed cockpit, with the typical four-seat layout that we all know and love! I would dearly have liked to have shown you some photos of the finished item but alas I don't work that quickly I'm afraid! I know that I won't be using the kit Deutsch decals (depicting the famous Red Square 'escape' aircraft) because I plan to finish my '172 as the white & yellow ochre flying club machine 'G-BEBI' that used to fly out of British Aerospace Hatfield, England - the home of the world's first jet airliner, the de Havilland DH106 Comet. As an ex-engineer there myself, I used to often fly in that aircraft, so it would be an obvious choice for a colour scheme for me. As I have said, the finishing -and even the starting- of this kit is some way off, but the overall package seems pretty good to me.Read full review
