i like it for monitor speaker cause its handy or small but good quality of music and you can mount in walls with built in brackets,
I bought these to use as PA speakers for a stage piano. They are really small and the cases are quite tough so they are ideal. They're not as sturdy as a proper PA speaker though, and the grilles can get dented - so you'd need a case if you wanted to carry them around.
I like these speakers. They are well designed and have a good rounded sound (with a bit more top end than bottom end- no surprise). The optional Invisiball mounting setup is genius and offers a degree of security to an outside installation that few other outdoor speakers can match thanks to the hidden ball locking mechanism. When i first fired up a set of 2 of these i thought they sounded a bit low on output but having installed them in a pub beer garden (mounted onto solid stone wall) i totally changed my opinion- for their size they are sensational and serve all but the loudest of nightclub scenarios perfectly. They are only fill speakers but are very close to being capable of providing high volume playback if used with a sub setup. I put two lines of four speakers on either side of this beer garden (which is 34 meters long and 20 meters wide- quite big...) and when driven with a single crown XLS602 amp the sound is very impressive. Each speaker will be getting around 100 watts flat out which is a good supply for the speakers rating. Its too loud for general use in fact, but the few occasions when these speakers are needed to sound loud will be great for the listener as they do not sound at all strained when they are being used at any volume right up to maximum. The top end could be described as a little forward but that is being picky, the quality of the listening experience when i first heard these things was approaching studio monitor fidelity, and with a few more people around in the beer garden that top end will be absorbed anyway. They have solid off axis performance, so when youre walking about in the space they're covering you dont hear too much change in the nature of the sound. My only real criticism would be that it could have been better to fit the speaker terminals in a position that might be a little more protected, as this is probably the only place that might suffer from the elements when being used outside. A bit of black duck tape is pretty useful for extra protection.... All in all: Good performace. Excellent mounting options. Great weather sealing. Nice looks- compact yet pro looking Easy to configure Louder than you might think. Cons: Perhaps a little over priced when purchase new, but second hand pairs can be found occasionally on Ebay for around £100- £150 per pair. Bargain! If youre doing a medium volume outdoor install then crack on and get some bought!Read full review
