This CD was bought to fill a hole in my collection and it has done that and met my expectations. If I was to choose only one Joe Brown CD then this would be the one to choose.
If you want to own only one Joe Brown CD this should be it!.Joe didn't really have too many hits as such, but singles such as "A Picture of you",a Number One in 1962,and "It only took a Minute","Thats what love will do",and "I'm Henry the Eight I am" all sold plenty of copies. As this is a 50th Anniversary Collection it covers his whole career and starts with the original versions of the aforementioned hits, and then goes through the 70's,80's and 90's,and as Joe releases at least an Album every year there is plenty to choose from from those decades. A particular highlight from this time is his version of "I'll see you in my Dreams" which he famously closed the George Harrison Tribute Concert with, and "One trick Pony",and "Sea of Heartbreak". Some 75% of the CD are new/newish recordings and he also does completely revamped versions of "A Picture of You","Thats what Love will do",and "It only took a Minute" to end the CD. Joe Brown has been near,or at the top of his profession for 50 Years, which is amazing by itself, and he still tours relentlessly. Catch him if you can when he is next playing near you,and you can be sure he will be,as this Guy is as the Sleevenotes state a National Treasure!.Read full review

Every track has the Joe Brown stamp on excellence on it. "A picture of You" from the 60's and the brilliant uke playing on "I'll see you in my Dreams" which he played at the George Harrison Tribute Concert. Even Dylan's "well well well" is given a new lease of life. Joe Brown did a brilliant segment on Bob Harris Show in January and this album enhances his excellent career.
