Great CD! To me, it's a classic. Grew up listening to stuff like this... it's never gets old to me! Such a shame the band broke up.
The first JOJ album that I got was "Teenage Humid Mediocrity". Initially, I didn't like it because it was very harsh and unpolished. The second that I purchased was "Clear Hearts, Grey Flowers" [reviewed elsewhere on eBay] which was far more polished and professionally produced. This album is the good mid-ground. It contains a lot of the same songs as both of the others (I personally think this version of "Girl Scout" is the best of all the ones I've heard.) It uses Jessicka's voice properly (perhaps not as well as on Teenage) and the music is more polished than the garage recordings, but it doesn't have the same mainstream marketing only polished feel that "Clear Hearts" did. My only real complaint is that the version of "Everything's Brown" on this CD is nowhere near as intense as on "Teenage". This would be a good starting point for people who are interested in Jack Off Jill. -demosthenesaliveRead full review
