Even if you’ve never “gotten” Jazz before, you’ll be a fan after hearing Miles Davis’ masterpiece, “Kind of Blue.” No music collection is complete without “Kind of Blue,” whether this is your only Jazz album, or whether you have a library. “Kind of Blue” is an incredible musical journey, all the more remarkable since it was recorded on the first take without any prior rehearsing – it just couldn’t be improved. This also means it maintains the sense of spontaneity that is essential to Jazz and that is notably missing from many other Jazz recordings. “Kind of Blue” will appeal to any listener. Since first hearing it, it has never been off our CD player, and in fact, we have several copies of it around, and my two children have had their own in their rooms and have listened to it nightly since they were born. I never tire of listening to this album. Words are inadequate to describe “Kind of Blue,” it must be heard, and I recommend it to anyone. The world would be a much better place if everyone listened to this beautiful music.Read full review
It is a great album and it has a bonus track (another take of the last song as well as the original) and the re-mastering is very good.

If you only get one Jazz album for your collection, make it this one. It is quite simply brilliant with Davis at the peak of his powers with a stella backing group including John Coltrane and Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, all great artists in their own right. As the title might suggest, this is an album to sit back to relax and enjoy and you will find yourself coming back to this album time and again. As a side note, both the stock image and information on this disc seem to be wrong, I've checked the EAN number and it certainly isn't "a multi-channel Super Audio CD playable only on Super Audio CD players.", rather just a normal CD playable on all players! It might be worth asking the seller just to verify this before bidding.
The music experts say it is the best jazz album ever... and it really is! The album the modern jazzmen were based on. Such an extraordinary album, everything plays well together, from the beginning to the end. And I especially love the last track - Flamenco Sketches - alternate take. The best piece of music to me. Worthy waiting for till the end of the album...
