A welcome upgrade from the original Amazon Kindle. The reading experience like all Kindle's are superior to any other screen based reading technology. The Touch adds a unique and seamless interface as an option to using the button version. Its not as lazy as the regular Kindle or a book for that matter. You always need to lock on and off the screen to prevent accidental scrolling and be precise with your touch interactions. Perfect for a conscious touch screen interface user. Cons: The starting up times could be quicker, Ads could be targeted. Overall a great reading and touching experience :)
This 4th gen Kiindle has a great audio feature that I really like. I can carry all my books and tunes on the one device and listen to my favorite music as I read. Kindle missed the boat by eliminating this "experimental" feature.

Having a Kindle is like having a library and a book store in your hand. This Kindle Touch with 3G wireless connectivity is great. Amazon provides the free data to connect you to the Kiindle store, so you can purchase your next book without even leaving your reading chair. The text to speech function (not available on newer models) lets your Kindle Touch read to you. I learned to appreciate this feature whle suffering from severe vertigo. (Hours of lying perfectly still with nothing to do.) Listening to a book helped take my mind off the sensation of spinning. Great e reader.

This is a great device for someone who is looking for near book reading experience with combination with Wi-Fi capabilities. The experimental browser seems to do a nice job, with all the sites i tried were displayed properly. Remember, that's still all are in black&white display, but this what's making mostly why battery's life is so long. I hadn't used a 3G connectivity option yet, but the fact is that it's unlocked makes it more comfortable to use in places where Wi-Fi isn't available and you make connect to the internet using your cellular provider carrier. The device have internal 4GB free space and additional 4 or 5GB on the amazon cloud service (whispernet or something) . It took a little time to understand proper usage of the device, that's why it's strongly recommended to read it's manual before starting the use of the device. Many answers to questions cam be found there. For an example, how to deliver books or reading files to the device and making them visible for usage (you have to send the files to your unique xxxxx@kindle.com e-mail, log on to your amazon account BEFORE that and define legible e-mail accounts that can send files to your Kindle Touch device, you can't just deliver them by USB connection to the PC, it won't work that way). To be able to enjoy MP3 player or audiobooks, you have to connect via USB and deliver mp3 files or audiobooks files to prover directories ONLY (there is a specific directory for each, you can find out more by reading the manual). So, it's still isn't a tablet, it weights much less and it's size smaller too, but for reading the books, E-Ink technology is the best and for sure it worth the money!Read full review
I love this Kindle. It's a great value, and it isn't dependent on having a WIFI connection - that means you can download new material or place Amazon orders from about anywhere. I have 4 different models - 2 with 3G. 3G is definitely the way to go. 2 with keyboards, 2 with just touch screens. I don't much care whether it has a touch screen or not. Sometimes, but rarely, a keyboard is advantageous. Seriously, the prices of these are dirt cheap. They have almost all of the features of the newest devices. What's not to like? I'm not completely up to date with all of the features or how to customize it, but it works! I have read a very long book, and am almost finished another, with it. The battery lasts for weeks when reading a couple of hours a day. It charges quickly, too. The touch screen is nice. The Paperwhite (?) is fairly easy to read in most lighting. I would like to know how to increase the font size - I'm sure there is a way, Sometimes, a larger font would be nice when the eyes get tired. It even plays MP3's or reads along. Nice. I can't say enough about how inexpensive these are - seriously, about $30 - some less, some more. Oh, and the thing in the bottom of the middle is a home button. The speakers are on the bottom of the back. And you can rotate reading if you want a panoramic view. You can upload files with a USB connection, too. This model doesn't have a color screen. It you want to watch video, get another model or stare at TV. I read.Read full review
