It's King Arthur but not as we know him. Removed from Camelot and plonked down in chilly Northumberland at the fag end of the Roman Empire the film is an attempt to portray a "historicly accurate" Arthur. Whether such a thing is possible is debatable, but it'as certainly different. There isn't much of a plot but there are plenty of battles which are generally well done, although Ms Knightly looks far too fragile to be a sword fighting warrior woman. The DVD extras include a disconsulate director explaining why the studio made replace his ending with a tacky fibreglass stonehenge. The original ending was better. Not too bad, but I expect I'll be ebaying this one myself rather than keeping it.
