If you want very straight forward information get this one.
Richard Hall has always been very generous on his website with his qualified opinions. This book goes further and offers some useful pictures to underpin what is being said (written). Of course we all would love an answer to 'so Richard which of these options would you prefer' but there is no author who would ever put their head on the block like that. I am about the go over it cover to cover once again, IMHO this is recommended reading for those who want to listen to a no-nonsense guy who knows his Series Land Rovers backwards.

A really good over-view of the series land rover. If you are thinking of buying an old Land Rover then get this book first, it could help you to stop make a bad purchase. Then when you have your new toy it will show you how to keep it running. More experienced home mechanics may find the content a little lite, but still makes a good reference guide. An abundance of colour photos helps show the key parts especially for Home Servicing. This doesn't always come over so clearly in workshop manuals. Summing up if you want a good read and informed insight in the Series Land Rover,s oily parts then this book wont disappoint. Lastly get this book before you buy a Land Rover read the first section and take note, it could save you from a costly mistake.

Excellent quality, easy to read book filled with common sense, insightful information that makes restoration and maintenance of the Land Rover Series 3 much easier and less time consuming.
