What I purchased is actually the 16-hour version of this course. I got it in preparaion for a holiday in Italy in late spring. Like all Linguaphone courses, it's excellent - good, clear native speakers, and it rattles along at a good pace. The reason I can't give it 5 stars is probably a rather unreasonable one, because after all the course is labelled 'All talk". However if, like me, you find it quite hard to memorise words if you haven't seen them as well as heard them, the booklet that comes with it is incredibly frustrating. Some words are listed alphabetically, others alphabetically by the preposition etc usually associated with the word. Maybe it would be better if vocabulary was simply listed according to the lesson it appears in. I also like to learn a wee bit more grammar as I go along. I'm using the book for the Hugo 'Italian in 3 months' course along with the CDs, and find that a very good combination.Read full review
