A charming without being overly sentimental version of this much loved story . A young Katharine Hepburn makes a warm but feisty strong minded Jo . The sound is a little difficult to follow at times , I wondered if the DVD would be any different to the streamed version , but no. However the combination in the sound of supposedly accurate Concord, Massachusetts accents , especially when delivered by the Connecticut born Katharine Hepburn, plus the somewhat creaky acoustics of the movie itself only serve to add to the charm . I bought this as a Christmas present for myself because the problem with streamed services is that you cannot rely on them always being available , this delightful DVD won't be going anywhere anytime soon , loved it !!

great film. one downside is that the dvd doesn't have a menu for scene selections and other options.
