|Product Type:||Ham Radios|
|DSP Filter:||JPS NIR-10||Brand:||Lowe Electronics|
You are bidding on a working package containing:-
(i) A Lowe HF-150 HF receiver
(ii) A Lower PR-150 HF preselector unit
(iii) The numeric keypad accessory for the receiver
(iv) A JPS NIR-10 DSP noise filter unit
Also supplied is a PL259 male-male patch lead for connecting the receiver and pre-selector, a power patch lead for running both the radio and preselector from one power supply and a single 12v power adaptor with the correct plug.
Please note no manuals are supplied (they're available PDF online if needed) and an additional 11-15v DC / 1A power supply is required for the DSP filter if you want to use it along with some audio cables. The HF-150 is missing 1 of the 2 AA battery compartment drawers on the rear (although this doesn't affect operation via the 12v mains or external battery, only if you want to use 8 x AA batteries!)
All items are working with only some small marks on the exterior metal cases (see photos). The JPS filter has been user-modified to provide 4 more 2.5mm audio output sockets to power several decoders or recorders at once.
Specifications taken from the Universal-Radio site:-
The Lowe HF-150 coverage is from 30 kHz to 30 MHz with variable tuning rate according to speed rotation of the main tuning knob. Modes are AM, AM Synchronous, USB and LSB (also for CW/RTTY/FAX). The dual conversion design features selectable IF bandwidths of 2.5 and 7 kHz. Sixty memories store frequency and mode. The 1 kHz LCD frequency display can also show: memory number, mode, bandwidth and other functions. The rear panel has output jacks for speaker and record output plus the optional wired keypad. There are also two battery compartments that hold four AA cells each (not supplied). This radio also operates from 12 VDC.
The Lowe PR-150 preselector and preamp is an accessory for the HF-150 receiver. It covers 100 kHz to 30 MHz in seven bands. Each band represents a dual-tank LC filter circuit, each of which can tune over 2.5:1 frequency range. each filter is passive. For additional gain, the built in UHF bipolar transistor preamp gives low noise performance with high dynamic range. The preamp may be turned on or off. The PR-150 also features an Attenuator and A/B antenna switch. It is built in a very solid metal alloy case. The rear panel has Antenna A input (SO-239 or Hi-Z terminals) and Antenna B input (Hi-Z terminals). Output to the receiver is 50 ohm SO-239. Requires 12 VDC at 50 ma. (and has a duplicate socket for power loop-through to other accessories). Made in England.
DSP Filter: - JPS NIR-10
The JPS NIR-10 audio filter allows reception of difficult to read signals and reduces listener fatigue. Operates on radio receiver audio outputs then provides its own volume-adjustable processed audio to an external 3 to 8 ohm speaker (not supplied). The NIR-10 reduces or eliminates white/pink noise, ignition noise, static interference, RTTY interference, and power line noise. PEAK function reduces white noise interference. The Notch Filter mode removes multiple heterodynes and acts in 3 milliseconds. Band Pass mode has continuously adjustable center frequency, selectable bandwidths (0.25, 0.6 and 1 kHz), vertical-skirted filters, and greater than 60 dB ultimate rejection. The rear panel has RCA phono jacks for: Audio Input, Speaker Output, Remote Bypass, Inv Rem Bypass. There is also a jack for 12 VDC Input (1 amp). The front panel features a 1/4 inch headphone jack. 7 x 2 x 7 inches.
