Being a 50 year old retro gamer has its ups and downs, on the upside the older games are very cheap and via ebay relatively easy to find however on the downside they do take up a lot of room, a rule of thumb being the older the game the bigger the box. There is a solution and that's to buy an original xbox with a much larger hard drive than its' original 8 gigs filled with many thousands of old games to chose from. Although the games are in the public domain and therefore legit, as no copywrite rule apply, this does not mean this is a straight forward job, fortunately there are people who have already done this for us which makes life easier
I bought this product due to my original xbox failing to work anymore. I dislike it's game selection. Many games I found dull however some it's exclusive titles are a lot of fun. When comparing it to other products of it's time such as the PS2 and GameCube I can only speak for the gamecube, I have never owned one and cannot make a comment on it however thre ps2 did have the Resident Evil Outbreak series, a series I have always wanted to play. However with the gamecube in mind, my vote goes to gamecube. Why?, because of the Xbox 360. Some of the games on the xbox are not backwards compatable with the 360 were the gamecube games are usable with the Wii. This is NOT a fault of the xbox only its successor.
We have a new xbox 360 wanted to know what kicked the xbox of by going back to this model so brought this one from ebay and yes liking its good to go back and play the games a little slower thats why i still have and play the old NES o yes the fist mario brilliant
