I am a mammy to 7 (yes, 7!) children so I like to think I know a thing or two about buggies and prams. I have had numerous systems for each child as they have grown and with close-in-age siblings I have had double buggies, but my latest are twins. They are now almost one and after having used a tandem style which accomodated both car seats(and was great for that) they have outgrown car seats and I was looking for something light but not flimsy (as I have found umbrella style buggies to be). I have had two other Mamas and Papas in the past (a 3 in 1 and an umbrella folding buggy) and have found them to be practical but grossly over-priced. This Aria Twin, although expensive by comparison to other twin strollers is in a league of it's own! Mamas and Papas have given a lot of thought to the practicalities of luggung twins or two children around and the necessity for space-saving features and ease of use is evident. The stroller 'flicks' open in one easy motion and folds away easily and more importantly for me, compactly. The handle squashes down into the folded structure thus making it even more 'tidy' to store. It even stands up on it's own when collapsed. I still can't believe the buggy can accomodate two children and still be so lightweight - it's featherweight!! The children are more than comfortable in it, there is plenty of space in each seat, even though the stroller itself is so narrow - to get through most doorways. The harnesses are great as they only anchor at the bottom but still offer 5 point protection - this stops the children feeling restricted and held back whilst still offering maximum safety. The seats recline with a toggle system which I have not liked on other buggies in the past as they have felt flimsy, but this one is rigid (but not too stiff to operate) and feels secure. It also glides into a reclined position so doesn't disturb sleeping babes. The stoller itself feels solid even with two children, shopping and my bag loaded on! Some stroller/buggies I have had experience of seem to 'sway' (even single ones) from side to side especially when trying to turn using the swivel wheels,as if they can't move the weight of the cargo, but this one glides around with ease. Overall, I would highly recommend this stroller - a perfect choice if you like to keep things 'scaled down' without losing the luxuries usually associated with heavy prams.Read full review
I am a mummy of 7 month twins and bought the Twin Aria as a second pushchair for grans house. I like it so much I use it as number one pushchair. The 50/50 split means lots of room for both babies. The folding system is easier than umbrella folding and much easier to transport and putting it up is not like playing a game of twister! The basket under the chair is large and accessable unlike many others. The bumper bar can either come off fully or is gate opening so easier to get babies in and out. The freedom harness is a great feature my twins love being able to move about while strapped in. All in all i would recommend this pushchair to mums of twins.
Of all the Mamas & Papas ranges, I like the Aria best. It hits just the right balance - light enough to live with and strong enough to be practical. This double buggy is a cinch to open, easy to fold and as maneuverable as things this size can be. It is well constructed and comfortable to push. It folds flat and can be stored easily. It's also my girls favourite as they can both ride side by side - something which the Phil & Ted's "over and under"-style prams miss out on. We like it.
