I had the same monopod but I posted it to a friend who has more immediate access to the countryside during the pandemic Lock-down. I then needed to find another and so I ordered this one for when restrictions are lifted. The modern manfrotto monopods are carbon fiber and although I like them for being portable I like the older heavier ones. I also make a shoulder-straps from webbing. I use a Fuji Xe2s mainly, and although the combination of small camera and heavy monopod seems odd I feel the weight of the monopod make me take my time, since mirrorless cameras can be a little light and snappy. Glad I bought this. Worth every penny.

I already owned a Manfrotto X55 ProB so knew that they made a fantastic product and therefore I had confidence to buy the 681B. I purchased mine together with a 496RC2 ball head. The combination is fantastic. This is not a light monopod but a heavy duty piece of kit which can handle my combination of a Nikon D7000 or D300 coupled with a Sigma 70-200 2.8 OS with ease.It would be quite heavy to carry all day. I use it with my Lowepro 400 AW in its tripod holder and this is fine. I don't know about the comments that it can be used as a walking stick, I personally wouldn't use it as such because the hand-grip isn't formed for the hand as a stick is. There is plenty of height for me and I'm 5'10". The levers are well made and clasp very firmly. All in all a great piece of kit. As always it could be a little cheaper in price but I suppose at the end of the day you pay for what you get.Read full review
