Throughout the 1990's and early noughties I was well into Marilyn Manson but felt that Eat Me, Drink Me (20070 was poor. This album, released in 2009, is an improvement. Some good tunes though not as good as their classic 909's stuff

I saw Manson live at Brixton earlier this year having not bought any of his albums since 'The Golden Age of the Grotesque'. I heard some of the new tracks at that gig and decided to give it a go. The album is far more melodic than the his later stuff and is more similar to 'Mechanical Animals' the themes are darker and more considered. There are a few stand out tracks that you will be humming in your head on the way to work: Devour, Leave a Scar and I Want to Kill You Like They do in the Movies'. I think this is more of a grown-up album, if I can say that. The teenagers that would have got into MM when 'Holy wood' came out are probably now in there late 20s and ready for something like this. For me, I'm just glad he's moved away from songs about teenage angst and moved back to the dark, more Nihilistic feeling of the earlier albums.Read full review
I couldn't wait to get this album and when i did man i was blown away.Alot of people didn't like eat me drink me but i don't no why but for those people this album is like a return to the mechanical animals era.If you love him you'll like this regardless its full of awesome songs and music backed up by twiggy once again.A must own album for Manson fans even most music critics gave this one a big thumbs up.
I was expecting more than what i got with this album, seen as though it's been a while since he brought out his last album 'Eat Me, Drink Me'. The majority of the songs sound similar and aren't as good as his older work, i found. There are a few good songs in there though, 'Running To The Edge Of The World' is a good song and some others stand out a little more but on the whole the album is quite disappointing, i'm hoping that it will grow on me in time but at the moment i'm still disappointed.
A return to form from Americas scariest rock star! Lots of hints of other Manson albums here with echoes of Mechanical Animals and Anti-christ Superstar. Don't buy this for your nan or those people who come round your house on a sunday telling you how wonderful it's going to be when jesus comes back because they WON'T like it!!!
