This is a good product which is very easy to install and makes a really rigid fixing for a rotary clothes line. Not too sure about the spring idea to fill the void between the anchor tube and the line post but it does the job, although I would have preferred some sort of sleeve. Not worth docking a mark for though as overall this is an excellent item and really good value for money.

HEAVY DUTY SCREW IN METAL GROUND SPIKE BASE FOR ROTARY WASHING LINE AND PARASOL This is meant to be screwed into the soil or turf with the turning bar provided for that purpose. If you choose that method then I would suggest you use a block of wood with a lump hammer to force it down occasionally and then screw – you will find this much better, I decided to bed it into concrete instead which gives it rock-sold stability without any movement whatsoever. I also decided to use M8 30 mm stainless steel, hexagon-headed bolts to tighten my rotary washing line (32 mm diameter) to the spring clips. it was just my preference - instead of the ones provided which are quite adequate and have a wheel grip attached to the bolt I then topped the concrete with decorative gravel See the the 2 photos. I would recommend that you bed it into concrete, especially if have a light sandy soil. All-in-all a very good quality product with provision for different pole diameters ranging from 32 mm (about 1¼ inches) to 55 mm (about 2¼ inches ) Read full review

It's very strong and easy to hammer into the ground. It might last forever!! It's efficiently holding a long, heavy spike. I'm delighted with it.

I bought other plastic ones in the past for my rotary airer but u need to put them in cement otherwise they just lean all the time...then I bought one of these and it's great just screw into the grass no hassle and no lean really sturdy...brilliant. would definitely get one for my parasol.
