Our cats bring mice in through the cat flap at night. After the horror of using spring kill-traps I now use this type. It's my second one in fact. I leave this primed with a little peanut butter during the few weeks when the mouse problem is acute - mice brought in almost every night. Usually the mouse is trapped by breakfast and I can safely return it to the outside. No mouse has yet died inside the trap, and none have escaped it. The cats' habit is to drop an unharmed mouse in the hall way. It finds refuge behind the fridge. I keep a trap either side of the fridge (just in case there are 2 mice in a night). The effectiveness is greatly improved if you superglue a small coin, say a penny, to the flap-door, as it closes more securely with less risk of it not fully closing. The trap is easily dismantled for cleaning out between catches.Read full review

What appear to be breathing holes are, in fact, hidden by the inner part of the product when put together. My first caught mouse died through lack of oxygen. Unfortunately this happened overnight when I was unable to check the trap. It is not easy to put the two parts together either. The design, in my opinion, needs some revision. Having said that, the basic design is OK - thus my approval rating alathough, truthfully, it would lie between 'yes' and 'no'.

I had a little visitor who I nicknamed 'Houdini'...I'd previously ordered a pack of 2 humane mousetraps which were useless as he'd eat the food & leave with a full tummy!! Feeling desperate I ordered this one & thankfully 'Houdini' had his last meal in my home, at last I found one that worked & 'Houdini' was gently put in the bushes in local park the following morning!! I would highly recommend this product for all your unwanted house guests!!!!

Bought 2 traps, and caught 2 mice the first night... with no further sightings a week later, and after leaving the traps in various different positions. Baited with teeny blob of peanut butter and a cornflake on top. Mice a bit wet and antsy the next morning, so I felt it was important to free them quickly before they became too distressed. Drove them 3 miles away to the next village, to start a new life together :) Downside is you have to arm yourself with rubber gloves, bleach and a thick stomach to wash away all the droppings and urine (assuming you need to re-use the trap). But overall an effective trap, and good value for money. I'm delighted with results.

A simple but highly effective humane trap this product has already helped us catch quite a few mice and release them in the wild (away from our home). Very helpful to be able to see the mice and therefore be able to release them quickly on catching.
