I'm not a fan of any brands but after several failures with many cheap and more expensive vacuums (Hoover, Samsung, Dyson, Numatic - great but no HEPA) we decided to try Miele. Sturdy, good quality plastic, very "handy" feeling, as you actually enjoy using it. A lot of engineering behind it - very well made telescopic tube, ergonomic handles, bags with flaps to prevent dust from escaping. Very quiet (Dyson is very load) agile and easy to maneuver. Everything fits together, nothing squeaks, or make funny noises. Rotating brush is a big let down. Only small cover can be removed and it require a tool (or a blunt knife) but the roller can't be removed anyway to remove hair. Surprisingly bad design from Miele.

For many years I have bought Miele vacuum cleaners. I was very impressed with my first one, The suction was, and remained, the best and strongest I had ever used - after 6 years of use, it still sucked the rugs up off the floor, unless I turned the power down ! The extending tube however, was quite fiddly to slide into its place on the side - that now seems to have improved, happily. On the model I had before this one, the catch and hinge on the bag compartment, seemed rather flimsy and wasn't easy to close properly, which became quite problematic. My new one, appears not to have any of these past problems, it efficiently deals with our wood and tiled downstairs flooring. My only gripe is that it seems quite a lot heavier ? or have I just got weaker ? and also, its rather expensive - but isn't everything that's quality. I also have a Sebo, for the carpets upstairs (so I don't have to carry a vacuum up and downstairs). Overall, still love Miele ! Its the best ! Liz TugwellRead full review

I think the best feature is the adjustable suction power. On the highest setting it is powerful enough to lift the carpet from the floor and make it difficult to move the brush across the carpet. The "parking" spigot on the side makes it easy to store the hose and attachment in an upright position.

I have had a Kirby all my life so when it started smoking I thought it would be too expensive to repair. I have also used Dysons in the past. I researched various sites & read reviews on loads of vacuums & I narrowed it down to 4 but made my mind up on the Miele C3 Cat & Dog Powerline. Best decision ever. I have loads of pets with long hair so I it is perfect. Absolutely brilliant at manoevering & changing heads/tools, carpets to floors. So light my granddaughter loves it too. The different levels of suction make it a doddle to use. Love it & can highly recommend it. Thank you.
