The Minicom Video Merger quad simultaneously displays the video signals from four analogue or digital computers or video sources on a single screen. In addition, these computers can be controlled with just one keyboard and mouse or a single touch screen. V-Switch quad is a Quad-Video Multiviewer and a KVM switch in one device.
Return on investment with this Multi-Window Video Processor
Save the space and money you would otherwise use for three monitors, three keyboards and three mice. Using several V-Switch quad switches to manage a large number of computers can save an enormous amount of space and several workstations.
A clear overview with Multiviewer hardware
It’s now easy to manage more computers simultaneously in less space, permitting faster response times using this quad view.
Multi-Viewer compatible with almost any type of computer
Video Merger quad switches can be connected to laptops, Macs, SUN computers with a USB port, PCs, and many others. They support almost all types of computers and operating systems, analog and digital video, USB and PS/2 keyboards and mice.
Plug & play – Multi-Window Video Processor ready to go
Simply use the supplied cables to connect all the computers to one monitor or beamer, one keyboard and a mouse. With this quad view, there is no need to install any software.
Reliable Quad View Hardware
Video Merger quad is supplied as ready-to-use hardware. This quad view is a self-contained system that is independent of any operating system and thus guarantees a high level of reliability. That also makes this quad switch popular for highly critical applications.
Up to four computers can be connected directly to one Video Merger and controlled in numerous display modes:
Multi-Viewer in Quad mode
In Quad mode, the screen is split into four fields of equal size. Each field displays the entire screen content of a video source or computer. Keyboard and mouse operation can be selected to the field of the corresponding computer.
Multiviewer in PiP mode
When the PiP (Picture in Picture) function is activated, up to all three other video sources are displayed on the right-hand side of the full-screen image as thumbnails, allowing them to be monitored simultaneously. Size, position and selection of these thumbnails are customizable. In the new Triple Tile mode, the active channel and the PiPs are automatically resized to display all channels as large as possible without overlap.
Multi-Viewer in Dual mode
In Dual mode the left halves of the fullscreen images from two video sources are displayed side by side at full size. This allows e.g. to read even small written text in full resolution and brilliant quality in each of the left halves.
In Fullscreen mode, one of the four video sources is shown at full screen size and maximum resolution. Keyboard and mouse operation automatically switchs to the corresponding computer.
Operating the multiviewer KVM switch – 6 options
There are six different ways of switching between video channels and display modes:
1. Using the buttons on the front of the unit
2. Using configurable hotkeys
3. Using the unit’s external configuration program on a remote computer
4. Via a serial port using the protocol DCP XML
5. Using mouse functions (Hotmouse)
6. Using a touch screen (click here for supported touch screen models)
Hotmouse is a unique utility for controlling the quad KVM switch. The Hotmouse function is activated on any kind of mouse or trackball by giving the device a horizontal shake. This allows you to access any of the connected computers as well as the entire Hotmouse menu, for example to set up the desired display mode. As a result, the quad switch can also be used in environments where there is no room for a keyboard, with both the switch and the computers controlled by a single mouse or trackball.
When combined with a KVM over IP extender, such as V-IP, V-Switch quad and the connected computers, switches and other devices can also be controlled remotely via LAN, WAN or IP.
