Such a shame it's their only album - I mean they did the theme song to The Inbetweeners, (Gone Up In Flames), what more do I have to say? Perfect alternative rock sound with deep lyrics all round.

This was an album I was after for ages, as my local record stores had no copies available, so I decided to go the ebay route!!. I certainly wasnt disappointed. If anyone is unfamiliar with the band, Morning Runner, and you are a fan of indie music, I strongly recommend that you check these guys out. Take a large chunk of Keane and Aqualung and add a sprinkling of Coldplay and you arrive at Morning Runner. Very piano based, with swift moving melody, coupled with solid lyrics make this an absolute pleasure to listen to. The tracks, "Burning Benches" and "The Great Escape" shine on this album, so if anyone is a little on the fence about this band, then check out this album and you will be pleasantly surprised. First heard about this band when they were responsible for channel 4`s Inbetweeners intro song "gone up in flames" The band have as i have discovered recently split up! shame cause this cd is really good. piano driven, nice guitars, and great vocals. I am not usually an indie fan but theres something anthemic about this band.
One of their songs, 'Gone Up In Flames', has been one of my favorites for a while now, so I decided to go and buy the album to see what their other stuff was like - WOW! its got diversity, good lyrics, and i can honestly say that i love almost every song - so remember that name, Morning Runner!
I Saw "Morning Runner" at the Tartan heart festival in Scotland this August for the 1st time ever, it was also the 1st time i'd ever heard their music and was drawn in immediately, this album is beautiful and they are a wonderful band to see live, i can't wait for their next album. Alan Cru
