It's not perfect, but it's works reasonably well.

I shopped around and looked for the cheapest of these I could find and even second hand is a bit pricey. However I wanted a parent unit and for my other half to check in on him from work. And you won't find one for much less. A lot of people complain about the quality, but it's about as good as standard video monitors and even better on the phone. The sound has a minute delay. Which really isn't a problem it's like a second. It is possible to add an extra camera but I haven't worked out how to buy one without a parent unit yet. It powers from most basic phone chargers so if your lead does break you'll probably have a wire to hand. For basic requirements it's great. You can even use the app on your phone to do all the same functions and more than the parental unit. I've used it to take some beautiful family pictures when there's no one around to take the picture. Night mode can be a bit of a pain if the monitor ends up in a shadow but the quality is sometimes better. It also beeps if the monitor is on but the camera is not. Distance is good as long as there aren't too many walls or you don't hold it to your body facing away from the camera. Overall a pretty excellent product. Especially if you want something like this for under £100.Read full review
