Engrossing, interesting and worth-while reading!
Bamford is a happy and peaceful place - then an old house is bought and refurbished. it is turned into a hotel and the locals are very angry. There is much opposition and the owner, a swiss called Eric Shumacher, has made powerful enemies. He will not financially support the Equine Rest Home for old animals and wants it gone from his land; people do not want a hotel where people cannot afford to eat or stay. A demonstration is planned on the opening day of the hotel to try and force it to close. So everyone goes to the opening day with evil and hostile intentions! Then something happens: a local woman is found dead in the hotel. The hotel is forced to temporary close down! Then, while the local people are questioned, there is a second death. It becomes more urgent to solve the case. And ... Bamford is a happy and peaceful place - then an old house is bought and refurbished. it is turned into a hotel and the locals are very angry.
