I was asked to, and I quote: "Tell the community about your experience USING the My Booky Wook by Russell Brand ",(a person I just discovered and am watching intensely). Well, usually I READ a book but if I USE it for other reasons it may be to sandwich a bit of cash in it, balance it on my head to maintain my posture or use it as a writing desk. Being a hardcover, this book is very handy for all of the above mentioned, but the journey inside is also very helpful in seeing why we need people like Russell who are not afraid to confront their demons and then bring everyone along for a good laugh afterwards. It is a story written completely by Russell himself up until the day it was published sometime in 2007 AD. I am very lucky now to be sharing the planet with him while he progresses in his life, putting his lonely childhood behind somewhat and using his talent to make other people laugh and feel better, even about themselves perhaps. He has a marvelous wit even if you find some of his humor a bit "raunchy" as some people have described it. He has come a long way in a very short time! One might be less judgmental once one knows the background and struggles of this young comedian/actor. And for those of you who can't learn from his mistakes as he did, or see a little bit of us in him, I guess it is not your cup of British tea. But I look through the eyes of a parent (of someone else, of course) and see something very special emerging in Russell Brand.Read full review
I’ve always found Russell Brand entertaining as a comedian, and so I was interested to read his autobiography when it was released a few years ago. I thought that Brand was refreshingly honest about his personal motivations, interests and character flaws. Brand’s story is interesting, and I thought his narration was engaging and often comedic. Brand also speaks very openly about his experience of very serious issues. Overall, I think it was worth reading, and relatively entertaining.
