Quite a gripping read.

I can't make up my mind about this book. As I'm doing a criminology course, I have read a lot of stuff on the Moors Murders and although this one wasn't on the list of books to read, I found myself buying it out of curiosity. Basically it's a story of Hindley's life on the outside had she ever been released. Whilst I think the author gives an accurate portrayal of Hindley as a devious, manipulative woman, I can't help feeling that this is a story that should not have been written. It's a subject that is always going to provoke intense emotion and personally I think the author has made money out of what were the most appalling crimes this country has ever seen. Whilst I agree that a lot of authors cash in when they write about any true crime, I think the fact that this is a work of fiction, does not sit easy with me. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but to call this book enjoyable is insulting to the families of those children. I feel uneasy rating this book but as I can't give it 2.5 stars then I have to give it three star purely on the basis that it was well written.Read full review
