I had a need to move some fairly large files from 1 computer to another device (no usb port). There is no internet signal available in the area, so I could not use any form of cloud backup, So I set up a wireless network with this ex V.M. Netgear router. Easy solution to the problem.

I like this router as it is easy to use and understand this is my second one now with the first still in operation and would recommend this router to anyone. Note to novice: if you decide to add the router to an existing router the correct Ethernet cable will be needed I went with a crossover cable.

Had the WGR614v6 for some time found it reliable with a good performance for the cost. Managed to get this updated version second hand and install the latest firmware. I am on virgin Media and the old version started to get a bit slow etc. The newer one seems a lot more able to handle the latest speeds etc. This one seems just as reliable and performs well. Would recommend as a good second hand buy.
Bought the Netgear router as my kids could not pick up my wireless router from the loft. Connected the Netgear to my wireless router using a 5 metres ethernet cable and placed it in the corridor. The kids can now get wirelees access in the loft. Great piece of kit. Very easy to use.
Very pleased with the every thing working well.
